Apparently our district teachers and administrators wanted the day off, so they declared a snow day after getting around 8 inches of snow--though the roads were completely clear and easily usable.
I spent the day shoveling the drive, then taking the kids for a snow adventure at the local wilderness park. The adventure didn't last too long, because Tristan decided he was too tired and cold. I expected as much, so we had to cut our 1-mile snow hike down to around a half mile. Oh well.
Telling Abby to stay out of the branches is like telling Iran to halt their nuclear development.
Fresh powder makes for a difficult haul. It'll be better for sledding after it melts a little.
